EDI Software & Manuals

EDS distributes its Provider Electronic Solutions (PES) software at no cost to the provider community. PES is a proprietary Windows-based software that enables providers to submit claims electronically in a batch mode. PES has an easy-to-use online help tool that can be activated at the individual field level or from a list of topics. Features such as reference lists, archiving, and searches save valuable time by providing access to commonly used data.

Please note: Many providers interested in using PES may also be interested in our Web Direct Data Entry (Web DDE) method of claim submission and correction. Web DDE, available to all enrolled providers on the secure Web Portal, provides real-time, interactive processing. Claims can be entered online and submitted for immediate processing. A response is returned indicating the payment amount or any errors that occurred during processing. If an error can be corrected, the claim can be immediately corrected and resubmitted. Web DDE provides a great alternative to installing and learning a new software package. For more information, please review the Web Portal User Guide.

Below is a link to download PES. Please review the hardware requirements prior to installing the application. There are several steps that need to be taken prior to submitting batch claims to EDS:

  • All submitters must perform an authorization test. To begin the authorization process, fill out the EDI Agreement. For assistance with filling out the application, contact EDI Services.
  • Submission also requires an active secure Web Portal account. If you do not have an active account and have not received a PIN letter required to set up your account, contact the EDS Provider Contact Center at 1-800-289-7799 Option 7.

If you require a CD to install PES, you can contact EDI Services and request that a CD be mailed to you. If you choose to download PES, we encourage you to review the PES Manual and Billing Guides. The PES manual provides detailed instructions for installation and initial configuration. The Billing Guides provide a quick reference to key application functionality.

WARNING: For providers with a previously installed version of PES, running the full installation for PES will overwrite your database file. To make a quick backup of your database file, copy the file: C:\FLhipaa\flnewecs.mdb and save it by pasting it in the same folder. This will automatically create a numbered backup, (for example, the second backup will be C:\FLhipaa\Copy (2) of flnewecs.mdb. Alternatively, you can save the mdb file to another folder and manage the name/number yourself.
